Core Values

Word Ministry

We believe that Christian ministry is the ministry of the Word. The Bible alone is the divine standard of faith and practice and without it we would be without hope in the world. Thus, we are committed that our message as a church echoes and embodies the message of the Holy Spirit given in the Word of God. The Scriptures reveal the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh, and we seek to both remember and proclaim Him regularly through the exposition of the Word in preaching and the administration of the Word through church ordinances: believer’s baptism and the Lord’s supper.

Corporate Assembly

We value the Church as people, and not merely in terms of a building, event, or program. And while the ministry of the local church is a spiritual one, this does not mean it is corporately imperceptive or personally insular. Rather, life in the body of Christ is an inherently interpersonal, “one-another-ing” experience in which the Lord both works in and through the individual believer to impact the greater congregation. Thus, the weekly gathering and assembly of the local church for worship, discipleship, edification, and accountability is vital to the living out of the Christian life. Each week we are led through an order of worship that fosters a service of holy decency that is God-focused, Christ-centered, Spirit-empowered, biblically-rich, theologically-accurate, Gospel-informed, and congregationally-edifying. We understand the New Testament church to be a confessing, covenant community in which formal membership serves both the flock in their corporate duties and church leaders in their oversight.

Gospel Mission

We value the welcoming of the stranger to behold and believe that “the Lord is good” with the hope that strangers become neighbors and that neighbors become a part of the family of God through the local church’s gospel outreach, compassionate care, and generous giving of time, talents, and treasure for the work of ministry both locally and globally.

Gospel Maturity

We are committed to the task and privilege of knowing God, valuing the maturation of every Christian into “hearers and doers” of the Word by equipping them to think theologically about the Holy Scriptures, themselves, life, and the world around them.

Confessional Roots

We celebrate the providence of God in sustaining the life of His church throughout its history, seeking to acknowledge and affirm those points in its past that have distinguished our own confessional/creedal Baptist conviction. Thus, we embrace historic Christian orthodoxy, recognizing its helpful expression in such things as: the Apostle’s Creed, the Nicene Creed, and “the Five Solas” of the Protestant Reformation.
